This new high-end ASUS router features the latest wireless technology, top-level hardware and a firmware with hundreds of configuration options. The new ASUS RT-AX88U is a dual-band AX6000-class router. We must remember that the new Wi-Fi 6 standard works for the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz bands. Thanks to the OFDMA technology the new wireless standard uses, we will be able to make the most out the wireless spectrum, allowing us to connect more wireless clients to the same Wi-Fi access point.
We can get up to 1148 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, and up to 4804 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. We get four 4T4R MU-MIMO external antennas with 1024QAM technology for each band. We get 40 MHz bandwidth on the 2.4 GHz band and 160MHz bandwidth on the 5 GHz band. Therefore, we will always get the best performance on both bands. A really important detail about this router is that both bands work with MU-MIMO technology for downloads and uploads.
The new ASUS RT-AX88U router has one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and eight Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. The firmware has VLAN support over WAN and even VLANs ports for the operator’s IPTV service. If your operator is Movistar, you should now the router has Triple Play VLAN support. Another feature of the ASUSWRT firmware is that we will be able to set up Link Aggregation and Jumbo Frames. The router also has NAT acceleration for an excellent performance.
The ASUS RT-AX88U has two high-performance USB 3.0 ports. Thanks to its 4-core processor at 1.8 GHz, we will easily get great read and write speeds up to 100 MB/s.
